Skiing, sauna, enjoyment – winter holidays on the Feuerberg are first class.

When snow crystals reflect the bright winter sun warmly on my face, when I start the next carving swings with a skate step – then I am here, on “my” fire mountain in the ski hotel directly on the piste or in one of the cozy holiday chalets.

We benefit from the “inversion”. This phenomenon ensures that it is warm and sunny upstairs, while the valley is foggy and cold. A puffy blanket of cloud clings to the lake … two to three hundred meters below our resort.

That is only one reason why we say “premium location” with all our hearts. Another is the incredible view that extends a hundred kilometers and further on clear winter days. The third reason? The Mountain Resort Feuerberg is located directly on the ski slope. Two steps out of the ski stable, get into your bindings, and off you go.

WINTER FUN IN THE SKI HOLIDAY WITH CHILDREN IN CARINTHIA
Carinthia’s largest mountain bathing world, the Mountain Resort Feuerberg, is located in the middle of the ski area.

Especially in the holiday season, there are lots of children, especially small children, in the Feuerberg Mountain Resort, which is located in a glistening white winter landscape.

They use the ski school with enthusiasm, which has set up special courses for very young ski bunnies. The ski school is right next to the resort, as is a practice area for the youngest snow children. The Gerlitzen Alpe ski area is clearly laid out and not overcrowded at all, and the more independent children can easily ski on their own.

There is also care and lots of fun activities. Outdoor, such as tubing and tobogganing. The kids find indoor fun in the ball pit with slide, in the bathing world, in the family spa, in the sports and climbing hall and the youngsters in the L.O.F.T., the lounge Only For Teens.

… the fire mountain is a children’s mountain!

Here you can romp and laugh, we invent great things together, try new things (e.g. concrete as a material) or just do nothing. We make little works of art out of old tennis balls, process cereal boxes and fruit nets, experience the seasons in the forest and on the alpine pastures and just have a good time.

We have space for this in our wonderful children’s house with handicraft tables, lots of games and books, building blocks, endless inspiration and a “free space” for exercise or rehearsals for the popular children’s shows, which all (very, very proud) mothers and dads once a week , Grandmas and grandpas are presented.

There is a sporty program in our “Arena”, the sports hall with climbing and bouldering wall, slackline and much more. Would you like some fresh air? Two playgrounds want to be discovered. The largest playground, however, is our Alm. While there are many adventures between flowers, cows and horses in summer, in winter it’s all about a snowball fight, building a snowman or taking a ski course right on the doorstep.

The Gerlitzen Alpe is a popular destination both in winter and in summer. The southernmost mountain of the well-known Carinthian Nockberge at 1,911 meters above sea level. The quickest way to get to Lake Ossiach from the Feuerberg is at the foot of the Gerlitzen.

City stroll in Villach and Klagenfurt
Villach is located on the west bank of the Ossiacher See. In the city on the Drau you will find numerous shops, nice cafes and many events. From the Feuerberg you can reach Villach in approx. 40 minutes. On the east bank of the Wörthersee lies the Carinthian state capital Klagenfurt, which you can reach in just about an hour by car. Thursday and Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., farmers from all over Carinthia, Friuli and Slovenia offer their products at the Benedictine market. There is an organic market on Friday.

At the beginning of Bodensdorf (directly after Billa-Markt), Gerlitzenstraße goes 12 km left (coming from Villach) or right (coming from Feldkirchen) up to Gerlitzen Alpe. At the end of the road is the Bergeralm with the Mountain Resort Feuerberg. Take a ticket at the toll station – you will receive the free exit ticket at reception.

Please note that vignettes are required on Austria’s motorways. This is available at the border. You can also use a route planner to display the route. If you use a navigation system, please note that Gerlitzenstraße does not have street numbers in some systems. So just follow Gerlitzenstraße from the entrance to Bodensdorf to the end point.

Via the Tauern Autobahn (A 10) to the “Villach Ossiacher See” exit, then federal road 94 approx. 8 km further in the direction of Annenheim, Sattendorf, Bodensdorf (north bank of the Ossiacher See). In Bodensdorf, opposite the Turmöl petrol station, turn left into Gerlitzen Alpenstraße and follow it to the end (approx. 13 km).

From Vienna, Graz
Via the Südautobahn (A 2) to the “Klagenfurt Nord” exit, then continue on the federal road 95 in the direction of Feldkirchen and then continue on the B 94 in the direction of Villach to Bodensdorf am Ossiacher See. In Bodensdorf, opposite the Turmöl petrol station, turn right into Gerlitzen Alpenstraße and follow it to the end (approx. 13 km).

From Italy
Via the Udine – Tarvis – Südautobahn (A2) or at the Villach junction onto the Tauernautobahn (A 10) to the “Villach Ossiacher See” exit, then federal road 94 approx. 8 km further in the direction of Annenheim, Sattendorf, Bodensdorf (north bank of the Ossiacher See). In Bodensdorf, opposite the Turmöl petrol station, turn left into Gerlitzen Alpenstraße and follow it to the end (approx. 13 km).

From Slovenia
Via the A11 (Karawanken autobahn) to the Villach junction, onto the A10 to the “Villach – Ossiacher See” exit, then federal road 94 approx. 8 km further in the direction of Annenheim, Sattendorf, Bodensdorf (north bank of the Ossiacher See). In Bodensdorf, opposite the Turmöl petrol station, turn left into Gerlitzen Alpenstraße and follow it to the end (approx. 13 km).

The Gerlitzen Alpenstraße is a toll road. When you drive up, you pull a ticket and receive your toll-free card for the entire stay at the reception.
