Dachsteinkönig- Familux Resort- Gosau- Upper Austria

Dachsteinkönig- Familux Resort- Gosau- Upper Austria, is located at the foot of the Dachstein Mountains and has been awarded 5 Kinderhotel Smileys. This makes the hotel a showcase model for children’s hotels throughout Europe. You will not only find delicious food, pure relaxation, but also lots of fun for the kids and the whole family. The slogan of the hotel is therefore “A HOLIDAY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY”! Babies, children and parents rightly feel like kings here! With recommendation from QuarttoLino wooden high chair!

Dachsteinkönig Hotelansicht mit Chalet Dorf

Immediately after your arrival and the first view of the whole hotel complex, with the wonderful and stylish chalets made of wood, you will be very impressed and your question: Why this hotel is allowed to call itself “Dachsteinkönig”, will be answered immediately.

The architecture with natural stones and lots of valuable wood has obviously not been “spared” in the planning and construction of this impressive hotel. A lot of light, space and other family-friendly themes have been integrated in the planning. This makes the hotel elegant, cosy and at the same time functional for a holiday with the family.

The customers of the Dachsteinkönig are also customers of QuarttoLino, as we share many common values. During the development of QuarttoLino wooden high chair “Made in Austria EU” a lot of experience with babies and children has been incorporated. We are therefore very interested in the immediate environment and topics related to babies, children and family. Kinderhotels are not only our valuable customers, but places where babies and children feel comfortable.

Our stay at the Dachsteinkönig Familux Resort in Gosau was impressive and we can warmly recommend this great children’s hotel in Gosau!

Your Quarttolino Team

QuarttoLino also gives you a brief overview of the highlights here:

The whole family is greeted personally and warmly at the reception.
Enthusiastically placed on the small pedestal at the reception, the children receive a children’s champagne and their own personal drinking bottle.

In the child-friendly lobby, beanbags and rocking horses and QuarttoLino baby and children’s wooden high chair are everywhere for them to use and play with.

There is a self-service bar in the centre of the hotel. 24hrs you can help yourself to free coffee, tea and soft drinks at the “milk bar”.

The family-friendly hotel has a total of 117 family suites and chalets. They are all equipped to a high standard with high tech, spacious and very comfortable.

Nature, fresh air, healthy water, health, exercise, children’s happiness and animals and are just some of the values at the Dachstein King.
Each floor of this excellent hotel has therefore been given an animal name.
In the hotel lobby there is a small petting zoo, which is only separated from the visitor by a glass wall. Outside the zoo, you can feed and pet the animals.

Around the hotel, children will find a true paradise: Playground, sandpit, water playground, trampoline, mini golf, bouncy castle…

Special offer – the inclusive services?
Fresh products from producers in the region are offered here at the themed buffets with live cooking stations throughout the day. You can taste that right away!
The restaurant is wonderfully divided into differently designed areas, loosening up the atmosphere. All meals are buffet style, so there’s no waiting and plenty of choice.

Of course, families with babies are also catered for. Depending on taste or need, you can either choose a lovingly prepared porridge from a variety of jars or order a freshly prepared porridge from the chef. There is something for every taste.

Children love spaghetti and chips – no problem! There is also an extra section for them with special children’s meals. For example, spaghetti, chips and vegetables are always freshly prepared every day.

If the children don’t stay at the table for long after the meal – that’s no problem either. Parents can continue to enjoy their meals in peace. In the restaurant area there is even a play corner with all kinds of games for small and big children. So nothing stands in the way of a cosy dinner.

In addition, the children have access to drinks, fruit and vegetables all day long. Everything that is at the children’s eye level, so that they can access it themselves, can also be consumed.

The purpose of any Kinderhotel is that the children can and may simply be children. If there are a lot of families in a place that was built for children, it doesn’t bother anyone if the children are sometimes noisy.

Salzburg – UNESCO World Heritage Site
Salzburg, a baroque city on the northern edge of the Alps, is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The sights that visitors can see while strolling through the old town are world-renowned:

  • the Residenz,
  • the Glockenspiel, the cathedral,
  • the Franciscan Church,
  • the Mozartplatz, Pferdeschwemme,
  • the Hofstallgasse, the Hohensalzburg Fortress and the
  • St. Peter’s Abbey.

The best museums in Salzburg:
The Museum of Modern Art, the Rupertinum, Mozart’s birthplace, Mozart’s residence, the Cathedral Museum, the Baroque Museum and the Toy Museum.

Castles in Salzburg and the surrounding area:

  • Mirabell Palace (with marble hall for weddings and beautiful gardens),
  • Hellbrunn Palace (with its water games in summer and a charming Christmas market in winter),
  • Klessheim Palace in Wals,
  • Leopoldskron Palace and
  • Aigen Castle

DACHSTEIN GIANT ICE CAVE:

Location: only a few minutes from the Schönbergalm near Obertraun.

The Castle of the Grail, Perceval es Dome and King Arthur es Dome:

  • Behind these mythical names lies a vast array of fascinating formations of ice and rock where you can marvel at the ice cave. Experienced cave guides will enthrall you with stories from the magical underworld of the Dachstein.
  • Spectacular ice sculptures, gigantic ice curtains and impressive icicles never fail to enchant. A mystical underground world of ice and rock that will captivate even the youngest visitors.

Please note: Visitors to the cave must be accompanied by experienced guides. Sturdy shoes and warm clothing are recommended. The temperature in the Dachstein Giant Ice Cave rarely exceeds freezing point. However, the excellent facilities make this a great day out for children of all ages.

HALLSTATT – UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE:

  • Hallstatt is located on Lake Hallstatt, about 15 km from Gosau. Hallstatt is not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but is also famous for having been recreated by architects in China down to the smallest detail.
  • On a narrow strip of land between the steep sides of the mountains and the lake, the houses are densely packed, some even built over the water.
  • This was once a very important town, with its main street parallel to the lakeshore and several narrow streets around the market square.
  • Hallstatt has a 4000-year history and there is much to see there. Besides the historic town centre with its densely populated houses, there are a salt mine, Celtic burials, a prehistoric museum, the cemetery with its ossuary and the “oldest pipeline in the world”.

How to get there: You can take the train to Hallstatt and cross the lake by ferry from the station to the town centre. Alternatively, you can drive to one of the three large car parks and then take a shuttle bus or walk to the town centre. The town centre is closed to traffic.

DACHSTEIN MAMMOTH CAVE:

Location: only a few minutes from the Schönbergalm near Obertraun.

  • The huge Mammut Cave never fails to impress with its incredible size and a range of colours that you would never expect to find under the Salzkammergut! The word “Mammut”, meaning “mammoth”, was chosen by its discoverers because of the enormous size of the underground rooms and passages of this cave network. So far, about 70 kilometres of passages have been explored, of which about one kilometre can be seen during the tour.
  • The tours last about an hour and give visitors an idea of how the caves formed and how they were explored. They learn how huge amounts of water once flowed through the mountain and what problems the explorers of the Midnight Dome had on their multi-day expedition into the cave.
  • In the realm of shadows there are no limits to the imagination. Here, nature has painted its own pictures in white alpine milk and brown iron oxide and created names like the Venus of the Cave and the Lady with the Tyre Skirt. Finally, installations such as the light incidence project and the cave scan by the Linz University of Art are impressive.

Please note: Wearing sturdy shoes and warm clothing is again recommended when visiting this cave (guided tour required), as the temperature remains at around 4 degrees Celsius. Suitable for children.

KRIPPENSTEIN NEAR HALLSTATT – THE DACHSTEIN SHARK AND THE FIVE FINGERS
The Dachstein Shark is a spectacular attraction on the Heilbronn Trail on the summit of the Krippenstein in Hallstatt and offers visitors an insight into the prehistoric past of the Dachstein massif.

  • Marvel at the impressive prehistoric hunters on their ancient hunting grounds. From the mouth of the Dachstein shark you can see the fossilised prehistoric seabed, which is a popular spot for a photo opportunity with the Dachstein glacier in the background.
  • From the mountain station to the Krippenstein cable car, walk for about 30 minutes along the well-kept Heilbronner Rundweg trail towards the Heilbronner Kreuz cross to the Dachstein Shark, which you can walk inside, built by the Bad Goisern company Deubler. Visitors can climb a ladder to enjoy the view of the ancient seabed and the Dachstein from the mouth of the shark.

The Five Fingers are not for the faint-hearted! Arguably the most spectacular viewing platform in the Alps, this is located near the Dachstein Shark and towers over a 400-metre precipice.

HALLSTATT SALT MINE:
Take the panoramic cable car up the mountain. The route takes you via the mouth hole into a unique underground world:

  • Kilometre-long tunnels, carved out by hand over 3,000 years ago, lead deep into the mountain.
  • In cooperation with the Vienna Museum of Natural History and the staff of Salinen Austria AG, a new Bronze Age cinema was built 400 metres underground in Hallstatt and a story about a fictitious early bronze inhabitant of Hallstatt, called Udlo, was created using the latest scientific knowledge.
  • Thousands of years of history are brought together with the latest technology to present the latest research in an impressive exhibition.
  • The temperature in the salt mine is a constant 8 degrees all year round. Warm clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended.

Helicopter tours
Enjoy a special experience with the whole family. Helicopter tours are available all year round.

Flight routes:

  • 20-minute flight: Gosau-Zwieselalm-Postalm-Wolfgangsee-Bad Ischl-Hallstatt
  • 30-minute flight: Around the Dachstein Mountains – along the southern wall of the Dachstein, through the Enns Valley and back to Gosau via Hallstatt.
  • 60-minute flight: In 60 minutes you can fly up to the Großglockner (you can decide your favourite route with the pilot). A short stop in Zell am See is also possible.
